US SPY DRONES OUT OF FAIRFORD

Drone Wars UK public meeting and demonstration

 

Drone Wars, together with Oxfordshire Peace Campaign and CND, will host a public meeting and demonstration in January to oppose flights of US Global Hawk and Reaper spy drones from RAF Fairford military base in Gloucestershire.

The drones will use RAF Fairford as a base for secretive US surveillance missions, only intensifying the UK’s complicity in far-reaching US military intelligence regimes. Join us as we learn more about and resist this dangerous development, and its worrying consequences both locally and globally.

Demonstration: 25th January 2025, 1pm

 UPDATE:  Protest will go ahead.  

Bring banners and placards, food for lunch, and dress appropriately for the weather.

Demonstration will be by the main gate  at corner of Horcott Road /Maine Street.

 There are some spaces available on mini-bus from Oxford  £10/£5 low-waged.

Pick up point will be the Ashmolean Museum with minibus departing at 11.15 am.

ADDITIONAL PARKING

From Fairford base main gate travelling from Fairford village:

  • Continue down Horcott Road to the T-junction at the end.
  • At the T-junction turn right into Whelford Road and after the houses there is a wide roadside area on the left hand side of the road available for parking.
  • Please don’t park in any of the residential closes or areas off Horcott road or Whelford Road.
  • It takes five – ten minutes to walk from the parking are back to the main gate.
